I designed the University of Washington Press logo shortly after joining the press in 1963. Before arriving in Seattle, I had worked with graphic designers in NYC after graduating from Pratt Institute BFA in 1959. The press director, Donald Ellegood was totally committed and under his leadership established a great publishing program.
